Today's Thoughts

July 17th, 2005 (11:38 pm)

YEA!!! Got a SanDisk MP3 player today for 160 dollars today. 1 gig of songs, cant wait to unload every single song from my computer into the tiny little device that is attached to my arm now. However, it's frightening how technology is advancing through the human civilisation so quickly. To imagine just a few decades ago, mankind just discovered how to make audio records, and now, we can bring thousands of songs around with us anywhere, anytime. In today's world, only 3 things count: Size, quality, speed. We have managed to compress the files to as small an area as we can, and the quality of the songs we listen to is near-perfect, as if they are singing right beside us. So the last thing on the list is speed. It seems that there is a litle lag time for us to select songs, finding songs on the player, and loading the songs to be played. So to Creative Technologies, here's a way you can improve sales, decrease data transfer time from PC to Player, decrease loading time for songs to play, increase user-friendliness to find songs much more easily instead of scrolling through the thousands of songs that we cram into the player.

Anyway, not much happened today. Went to Chao Yang Special School this morning, not to transfer there, but to count coins for the Special Olympics people for their flag day. And i can safely tell you the the NKF affair has very little impact on the donations by the local people. As I sat down at a table with 5 other people to start sorting out coins according to denominations, a pile of coins were piled in front of us and we got down to work. And piles and mountains of coins were dumped in front of us as we went through them one by one. By 1245pm, when my shift ended, I had already lost count of the number of times we had to empty the full containers where we put all our coins. And there was a second shift too! And they had to work all the way to around 4pm. So guess the amount of money they had collected...

After that had lunch with Yaqi, Charles and Andrea at Newton Food Centre. Then rushed over to YPPAE. Sorry Alex, forgot to practise my song. I'll try to remember this week... :P Sigh, YPPAE practices have become singing session, with 3 hours of non-stop singing. Then STUPID W**L**** keep singing out of tune. So I subtly told him to stick with the Choir Guys, namely Jin-Ker, Woon Hian and WeiNeng, from ACS(B), RI and CatHigh choir respectively. So I was spared from the agony for the moment. Anyway, gonna look terrible during the September Performance, cause gotta where dumb green costumes while singing... Bleah.

Oh yea, I want to write about Battlefield 2 to PlayBox, the article where you can recommend a fabulous new computer game in less than 200 words. Ah well, just can't find the time. Yay, tomorrow got Chinese from 8am to 9am, then some dumb movie from 9 to 11+. Then can go home liao! YAY! Anyway, it's getting late and I STILL have to go for assembly. So goodnight all.

HAHAHA *dies* I'm sorry that was rude of me but XD XD XD

And the green costumes aren't that bad la... I daresay they're at least better than the horrendous mustard yellow traditional chinese costumes Malaoshi wanted to force us into.
